The UK Linguistics Olympiad (www.uklo.org) needs a host for its residential weekend in late March 2013. The hosts so far have been: Sheffield, Edinburgh and York, who have all got publicity and good will in the 300 schools on our mailing list, not to mention the schools of the extraordinarily clever competitors selected for round 2. What we need is two nights' overnight accommodation and meals for 19 people (16 competitors plus 3 tutors) plus a daytime meeting room, Friday evening till Sunday lunchtime. We now offer a subsidy of £1K towards the costs (typically £2-3K in total). The host department normally recruits student volunteers to help with train arrivals and offers a welcome talk on the Friday evening.
