The Department of Language and Linguistics (University of Essex) is seeking to appoint a 3-year fixed term full-time Lecturer in Sociolinguistics to cover a 3-year Leverhulme Major Research Fellowship. The appointed candidate will be responsible for delivering teaching in sociolinguistics at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level with areas such as Varieties of English, Multilingualism, Language and Gender and World Englishes particularly welcomed. Supervision of both BA and MA projects and an administrative contribution are expected. Candidates will need to demonstrate high-quality research in an area of sociolinguistics.
