    Workshop on Adpositions and PPs

    Friday 27th June 2014

School of English Literature, Language and Linguistics,

Newcastle University, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK

In the last two decades adpositions have received a considerable amount of attention by researchers from various perspectives, interested in investigating the syntactic and semantic properties of the various elements that fall under, or are related to, the broad category of adpositions, including prepositions, postpositions, verb particles, and cases. In recent years particular attention has been devoted to the internal syntax and semantics of spatial adpositions and PPs, with case studies of a wide range of languages (e.g. the papers in Asbury, Dotlačil, Gehrke and Nouwen 2008 and Cinque and Rizzi 2010).

In this workshop we will discuss the syntax and semantics of adpositions and PPs in the light of recent research in the generative framework on a variety of languages.
