    Dear All,

A working group associated with the LAGB Education Committee has put together a draft grammar glossary *for use in schools* (the glossary is not intended for use in HE teaching or research.) The background to this proposed glossary is an increase in the amount of grammatical terminology required by the official National Curriculum, and a concern that teachers and publishers are using wildly varying terminology. The LAGB Committee would like to publish this glossary as the "LAGB Grammar Glossary" after consultation with the membership. The glossary is available via:

    http://lagb-education.org/grammatical-terminology-for-schools

A few more paragraphs of background explanation are given there.

Could I encourage you to have a look at the glossary and send any feedback directly to Dick Hudson (dick@ling.ucl.ac.uk)? If you have general comments for consideration by the LAGB Committee, please email me as well.

    With kind regards,

    Ad Neeleman
