    The School of Arts, Language and Cultures at the University of Manchester invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for a part-time (0.75 FTE) temporary teaching-focused Lectureship in Forensic Linguistics, tenable from 2nd January 2024 until 31st July 2024, to provide cover for a colleague on leave.

    Applicants should hold a PhD or have equivalent expertise in Linguistics or English Language with a specialisation in Forensic Linguistics (corpus linguistic focus). We can consider applicants with an imminent viva date for PhD completion.

    The successful applicant will be expected to convene, teach, and assess the optional final year undergraduate course unit “Forensic Linguistics”. This module has a focus on corpus linguistic evidence in forensic casework, and materials for this module are available. It is offered as part of the single honours and joint honours Undergraduate programmes in Linguistics and English Language, and open to postgraduate students on the MA Linguistics programme. The successful applicant may also be asked to supervise a small number of MA dissertations and/or undertake some additional first or second marking in other (introductory) course units in English Language / Corpus as arranged with the Head of Department.
