This year, the Language@Leeds Distinguished Speaker event will be broadcast online, as well as delivered face-to-face.  

Professor Tony McEnery, Distinguished Professor of English Language and Linguistics at Lancaster University, will be making a case for why Language Matters.  The talk will be followed by a round-table discussion with local experts: Mustapha Sheikh (Islamic studies), Mel Evans (English), John Gallagher (History) and Yen Dang (Education).
