CALL FOR PAPERS
The Department of English Language & Linguistics at the University of Kent will hold its 3rd Undergraduate Conference in Canterbury on May 5th 2012.

Following the success of our two previous undergraduate conferences, for which our keynote speakers were Professor David Crystal and Professor Jean Aitchison respectively, we invite undergraduate submissions in any English Language and Linguistics area. If you would like the opportunity of presenting a paper to a friendly, enthusiastic and constructive audience, then come to us! As long as your paper fits broadly within one of the themes below, we’d love to hear it:
Stylistics and Literary Analysis
Pragmatics
Language Acquisition (First of Second)
Psycholinguistics
Syntax
Morphology
Phonology
Sociolinguistics
The deadline is March 2nd 2012. Papers will be allocated 15 minutes plus 5 minutes for discussion. The language of the conference is English. Abstracts should be no more than 200 words (excluding references). They should be sent by email as a Word attachment to ellsoc@kent.ac.uk . (Subject: ELL Undergraduate Conference Abstract). The document should only contain the presentation title and the abstract. Author(s) information including name, affiliation and email address should be detailed in the body of the email. Notification of acceptance decisions will be sent early-April 2012.
