    Temporary Lecturer in Sociolinguistics (Full time from 1st February 2014-31st July 2015) Grade: F (£32,267 per annum)

    Applicants must have a PhD in Sociolinguistics or a closely related sub-area, relevant teaching experience and evidence of research achievement and potential appropriate to stage of career. While they are in post, applicants will be expected to focus their research effort exclusively on a collaborative, AHRC-funded project led by Professor Karen Corrigan. Applicants whose teaching and research experience have a quantitative orientation are preferred. We are interested in candidates who can teach across the fields of sociolinguistics, world Englishes and language variation and change at undergraduate level. It is expected that the successful candidate will contribute to stage 1, 2 and 3 undergraduate teaching in these areas. The candidate will also be asked to supervise independent undergraduate research projects and dissertations. In addition, it is expected that all lecturing staff will participate in the School’s thriving postgraduate culture by teaching on MA programmes. All staff also share in the administrative tasks essential to the running of the School and applicants to this particular post will additionally be expected to undertake administrative tasks relating to their collaborative participation in the AHRC-funded project.
