The School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Science at the University of Edinburgh is seeking a postdoc for an ESRC-funded project "Language learning, communication and the emergence of phonotactic constraints" (PI: Mits Ota and Kenny Smith). We are looking for someone with a background in linguistics, psychology or cognitive science, who has experience of data collection with human participants and programming skills related to building and running online experiments. The project investigates how phonotactic constraints may emerge from the interaction between learning and communication biases.
