LAGB members are invited to submit a response to the Ofqual and DfE consultations on the Modern Foreign Languages GCSE Content Review 2021 before the deadline of 19th May 2021.
The Association for Language Learning (ALL) has a useful summary of the consultation here and a recorded webinar which outlines is detail the main changes. There are also documents summarising the main changes on the webinar page.
The main change is the move to a fixed vocabulary list drawn from the 2000 most frequent words in a given language, assessment of reading aloud (as well as speaking) and the removal of prescribed cultural topics, with the idea being that topics will be based around the vocabulary lists.
