    The Potsdam Research Institute for Multilingualism (PRIM) at the University of Potsdam, Human Sciences Faculty, Area of Excellence Cognitive Sciences is looking for a full-time

    Academic Staff Member (PostDoc)

    Salary Scale 13 TV-Länder (Tarifgebiet Ost)

    Requisition No.: 150/2011

    from 1 April 2012 (until 30 September 2013; possible contract renewal for another 3 years). The hours of work per week for the position amount to 40 hours. The position provides the opportunity for further qualification (‘Habilitation’). The Institute investigates grammatical processing in multilingual individuals and is funded by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (see http://www.uni-potsdam.de/prim).

    Responsibilities: The candidate will be

    • Working in the EEG- and Eyetracking Labs
    • Planning and conducting experiments with child and learners of German and other languages

    Essential qualifications: The candidate should have

    • A PhD in linguistics / psycholinguistics or related discipline
    • Good knowledge of syntax and/or morphology
    • Expertise in designing and carrying out EEG studies of language and analyzing EEG data
    • Good command of English

    Desirable qualifications:

    • Expertise in language disorders
    • Expertise in bilingualism
    • Experience with psycholinguistic methods other than EEG, e.g. eyetracking
    • Good command of Turkish
