At the last LAGB conference some of us were brainstorming how we can raise the profile of languages and linguistics to increase their uptake at GCSE, A-level and of course HE.
One such idea was to make and collate pub quiz questions to raise awareness of languages/linguistics among grandparents, parents and parents-to-be.
We’ve got ten by now but would need more to run a subject specific pub quiz on e.g. the national Linguistics Day (26th November), to get the questions into online pub quiz question databanks etc.
