Hello colleague. UKLO (the UK Linguistics Olympiad - www.uklo.org) is keen to recruit potential hosts for its residential camp, and (contrary to previous practice) is offering up to £5,000 towards the costs. The camp will be in April (at a date to be negotiated) and will be for 12 competitors and three tutors. The competitors will mostly be in Year 12 or 13, but a few may be younger; they are selected on the basis of their performance in two rounds of the competition, so they are guaranteed to be very talented. You are welcome to offer a tour and/or a talk, so it is an opportunity for you to promote at least linguistics, and possibly also your institution; but our main need is for board and lodging for three nights, a teaching room and a few students to welcome the competitors when they arrive.
