    The Department of Language and Linguistic Science at The University of York announces two special guest lectures, by Professors William Labov and Gillian Sankoff (University of Pennsylvania), 19-20 June 2013.

    Both lectures take place on the Heslington West Campus and admission is free.

    William Labov: Social vs. structural factors in linguistic change

    Gillian Sankoff : Language change across the lifespan:
    longitudinal research on Montreal French

    To accommodate expected audience numbers, the location of Gillian Sankoff's lecture on 20 June has been moved to P/L/002.  The corrected location and time information is below.  There has been no change for Labov's lecture on the 19th.
