The REF administration has issued a call inviting nominations for research users from outside of academia to be assessors on panels, to take part in assessing impact (see http://www.ref.ac.uk/panels/noms/). The LAGB would like to make some nominations. According to the criteria, people nominated should have experience in commissioning, engaging with or making use of university research in their professional activity and/or are interested in working jointly with academic members of the REF panels to assess and judge the impact that research has had beyond academia. Please send any suggestions for nominees to me as Honorary Secretary (dwew2@cam.ac.uk) by 19 November. The committee will then review the suggestions and make nominations in time for the REF deadline (5 December).
