Applications are invited for our IPhD (Integrated PhD) in Phonetics and Phonology at Newcastle University. This is a cross-school programme running across the Speech and Language Sciences section (within the School of Education, Communication and Language Sciences, ECLS), the School of English Literature, Language and Linguistics (SELLL) and the School of Modern Languages (SML).
The programme offers prospective applicants with a strong foundation in theoretical and experimental phonetics and phonology. It is composed of one year of taught modules followed by a three-year research phase. Our programme was commended for its uniqueness and strengths in offering state-of-the-art teaching in experimental phonetics and phonology.
