Dear LAGB members,
You may have seen on mainstream and social media that English Language and Linguistics is under serious threat at University of Leicester because of a rather dubious curriculum review.
Leicester UCU has an article online about the cuts and here's another more general one on UCU.
An open letter has been set up by UoL Alumni.
Caroline has sent a letter to the VC of Leicester, as LAGB president, to challenge this direction of travel (see attachment).
If you would like to support colleagues at Leicester, you can do so by also writing to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Nishan Canagarajah, (vc@le.ac.uk) and/or by signing and sharing this online petition (which supersedes the previous google doc version).
