The 7th Newcastle-Upon-Tyne Postgraduate Conference in Linguistics
Monday 26th March, 2012
In collaboration with Northumbria University, Newcastle University will host the 7th Newcastle-Upon-Tyne Post Graduate Conference in Linguistics on Monday, 26th March, 2012 in the Research Beehive, Newcastle University. Postgraduate students are invited to submit abstracts for oral and poster presentations on ANY area of linguistics. This includes all areas of General linguistics, Education, Language acquisition, Computational linguistics, etc.
This one-day conference is designed to give linguistics postgraduates from all research areas an opportunity to present and discuss their research in an informal and intellectually stimulating setting.

-David Crystal, Honorary Professor of Linguistics (University of Wales,
Bangor)
-Noel Burton-Roberts, Professor of English Language and Linguistics
(Newcastle University.)
KEY DATES
Deadline for submission of abstracts: Tuesday, 3rd January 2012.
Notification of acceptance: Mid February 2012.
Registration opens 20th February 2012.
ABSTRACT GUIDELINES
Abstracts should be no more than 1 A4 page in length in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format. For abstract guidelines see http://www.ncl.ac.uk/linguistics/postgrad/conference/abstractsubmission.htm
PRESENTATION GUIDELINES
Accepted abstracts will be allotted 20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for discussion. There will be a dedicated poster session on the day of the conference. Speakers will also be invited to submit their paper for publication in the Newcastle Working Papers in Linguistics.
