There are reports that the University of Roehampton is planning significant cuts in its Schools of Arts (the home of the Research Centre for English Language and LInguistics), and Humanities. Currently the plans involve making 40 redundancies across the two Schools.
On behalf of the Association, I have written to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Jean-Noël Ezingeard jn.ezingeard@roehampton.ac.uk, and to the Provost, Professor Anna Gough-Yates anna.gough-yates@roehampton.ac.uk, urging them to reconsider these cuts (a copy of the letter is attached to this post). Other members of the LAGB may wish also to write on an individual basis. There is also a petition that can be signed which you can access here.
