The University Council of General and Applied Linguistics (UCGAL) is looking for a treasurer who is willing to take up the post for 2-3 years. The Council was established in 2009, to provide a unified voice on public policy matters for linguistics within the UK higher education community. To find out more about our aims and membership, please see http://www.linguistics.ac.uk. The treasurer would need to attend (in person or remotely) up to three committee meetings per year (in London/Birmingham usually) and to handle UGCAL finances. Travel expenses are covered by UCGAL. This is also a chance to get involved in public policy and to meet linguists of all persuasions from across the UK. If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else (with their permission), please contact UGCAL president  Lesley Jeffries l.jeffries@hud.ac.uk as soon as possible and certainly before 29thJune 2020.
