Dear all, some of you may be aware that OUP is making changes to the way that the OED research is managed, including the redundancy if a number of roles. I wrote to OUP along with Caroline Heycock (as President Elect) expressing our concern that the changes would weaken the relationship between the linguistics community of researchers and lexicographers at the OED. Other Learned Societies, such as the Philological Society, have written their own letters. In response to this OUP have published a blog, which I copy here for those members who may be interested.
