Bursaries for student/unwaged members

At least five bursaries are available for student/unwaged presenters at LAGB 2019. These will be awarded on a meritocratic basis to the five (or more) most highly rated abstracts by students/unwaged members.

Student/unwaged members are asked to send an email to conference@lagb.org.uk after submitting their abstract in order to be considered for a bursary.

Students are also asked to provide contact details of their main supervisor and to state whether they have other sources of funding available to them.

There are two kinds of bursaries available:

Best Student Abstract Bursary

The Best Student Abstract Bursary is awarded to the student member whose abstract was rated highest by our international peer review committee. The award includes:
  • Free registration for the entire conference
  • Conference dinner
  • Up to £250 reimbursement of accommodation costs
  • Reimbursement for UK-internal travel costs to and from the conference
Presenter Bursaries

At least four Presenter Bursaries are available for student/unwaged members who have had an abstract selected for presentation at the conference. The awards include:
  • Free registration for the entire conference
  • Up to £50 expenses towards accommodation/subsistence
  • Reimbursement for UK-internal travel costs to and from the conference
